First touch on Singapore- It is what it is for what it is
I was thinking all along how to make this trip the most meaningful and expressive as possible, and foster good ties with the host while addressing imminent issues at hand (and of course have some fun in the process too 🙂) So we have a nice framework laid out. I think the most important thing here is why and how certain things become the way it is, and not about endorsement or value judgment of any kind.
To me, if the whole thing is about “Singaporeans” of Chinese origin, about PRC, about Asia, then we have to confront it and deal with it rather than beating around the bush or spreading misleading info. Of course, that does not mean we go reckless and wild, but take everything in consideration and handle it with care.
Very crucial- I reiterated on a few occasions. I can’t everybody, everywhere all at once. Therefore, there is no such thing as “fake it till you make it”. I won’t mistaken who is who and where they are from, and so do many smart people in the world. So if we have nothing going on, you are on your own and that’s perfectly okay. I’m “cash-strapped” and ordinary, and you guys are well off and very mobile (just not very free and liberated). But c’est la vie I’m not a cure all doctor, I can decide on my own things but not on all things. So in the end some truths are meant to be accepted in full, whether you hate it or like it. I have come to terms with it and we all should (it has been quite a while).
For the host- it’s time to explore things interesting (maybe a project or assignment) that can be innovative and competitive at the same time. What life is about really, if you never tried you never know, right? I’m not a person wanting to be gloomy or moody, and more kind of upbeat and positive. So we’ll see how it goes.
For the first clip, I’ll start with Olivia for what I think where it started.
