"The Scoot Plan"
Let me explain a little bit more why I intended to choose the "Scoot Plan" initially, and why 1000 points is symbolically important.
As you guys know, I felt pretty unwell for quite a while after my initial Singapore visit. As my health issue continue to evolve during last year, I took some time to figure out whether some things are of "natural causes" or from certain "external sources". If I didn't feel really really sick before I visit Taiwan last year, I would have follow through with flying Scoot and take the 1000 points. The journey would be the "South route", but whether it is just about Malacca or go all the way South to Singapore I haven't decide yet.
So some may ask why so obsessed with 1000 points? It's worth only a few American dollars and the flight time is pretty awful (and the flight is not that much cheaper either). I can book with Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia and it should be better in terms of time and service. This is true, but it doesn't get at some issues that I am very concerned about. The two fundamental items: budget airlines and 1000.
So what exactly is "budget airlines" and why exactly is "1000" and why does it matter so much?
1000 is not really about one single person or one company so to speak, but a a group of youthful generation are the deemed the future leaders of PRC working with the old in various areas of expertise. No names or anything specific can be mentioned but I have secretly worked with some of them when I was young, and the South Koreans and the Japanese have been working with some of them fairly closely. And of course we all know it has something to do with Macau and some of the people there.
For Malaysia, you may not really know because everything seem so normal on the surface. But in reality, some essential trade and businesses have been shut down in many places, and the Xi's administration has taken full control on the projects in place. That is why they try to revolt, starting some new businesses to make a noise, and trying to get as much leverage to push forward their agenda.
But I would say it's very hard to get any form of political leverage on a business because it is not "essential" and no one is "dependent" on it. That's why I keep telling them cherish what you have and we are all "on our own". No one need to worry about anybody's whereabouts, it really doesn't matter much. And maybe that is too much to swallow? C'est la vie. Just do your business well first. Trying to do too much often gets little done.
And "budget airlines" is really not about being cheap, it is about business class travelling, machinery, contracts and special perks. But very few of these things are happening in Malaysia, but a lot going on in Singapore (secretly). So this is why I need a bit of help from them to take a look and check out some things and see if we can find a way to work it out.
No matter what, since I am visiting Malaysia, Malaysia is always the star. It's just that I got too "caught up" with things that is really "not my business" and I am forced to sort it all out. Everything can be arranged better, but I believe no future (and no nothing) can be discussed or arranged without getting these things work out.
For the next post, I will continue spilling out some stuff that I come to "comprehend" from Georgetown and Ipoh and have Malaysia decide whether to do anything about it.
The goal is by August when the trip is materialized, it will be pleasant, enjoyable and delicious. And let life take care of the rest.
