What’s holding us back?
As you know I have been wanting to come over this summer, but all this is certain now it’s not possible and I know which “actors” are playing the tricks. I don’t think we have any middle ground at the moment as we have to wait out COVID-19 and have a effective vaccine in place. That maybe a few months away. When I book, I will have have to be 100% certain I can come over because I don’t need to cancel or postpone anything. I enjoyed your food and hospitality, and business-wise I’m sure we can find more things to work together. It’s certainly a green new deal, not old greedy politics.
I am an absolute pragmatist, and notions of hatred/vengeance doesn’t hold me for long. In fact, I have moved on, and I knew you knew. I know what the ‘blame game’ is about, as the players keep reiterating they felt betrayed and lost, and you guys had a role in it and benefited tremendously in trade and remittances throughout the years until the past year or two it hit a snag. I couldn’t have said more that I’m totally DONE and they wouldn’t budge. That’s what caught as in the middle it seems, and not a lot we can do about it.
You know I have mentioned UK and Canada, but the Aussies are also good people to talk to and work with, given our past shared experience and history. I hate it when this is all about battles and risk, corruption and failures, fossil fuels and dirty politics. Why not think about telecommunications, department stores, apps, food and beverages etc. - it can work both ways, not just everyone and everything heading to Australia. Something you guys can think about when COVID-19 subsides. The world is huge, we just can’t let one “circle” holding us back.
Until then. Stay strong as I monitor closely like everyone else and whenever I can I’ll come over. That’s what it is.
