Hello! Taiwan
Hello Taiwan.
It has been quite a while since I last visited Taiwan. I am happy to make it happen, and address some of the pressing issues I have on hand while enjoying myself with good food and hospitality.
This is a case of "when life give you lemons", which is relevant of course to Taiwan given its close proximity to PRC and frequent interactions with PRC locals. And from the onset this is not intended for political purpose as many will know (I don't take a stand on any presidential candidates), but serve as good will and a way to get to know each other better base on what we have come through together over the years.
Seriously, I think the best way to move forward is to foster trade ties with different people internationally, and in particular the UK and the EU will look a bit more closely since they know little about my "personal things" and can take this chance to review it and see if they are interested in working out something good. From the US perspective, it really depends on what is needed but personally I cannot be too hands on given its sensitivity. Singaporeans will work closely as well, with Asia in focus.
I really know there is a great presence of Japan in Taiwan, so for this particular trip Japan is not the focal point (but I may use my card and shouldn't mean anything particular). As for South Korea, I like the way Taiwan and South Korea interact. It is healthy and competitive, and will promote dialogue and provoke thinking (which I believe is vital given what they have "thrown" at me initially).
So what I have panned up until today is not exactly what I intended from the onset, to be honest. That is fine. This is a serious "budget travel", but not a frugal one as compared to backpackers. I had thought of staying at Marriott but even if I don't you guys can go there if something needy come up.
I know the chips and the high-tech stuff is critical, and many have come to know. I will not address anything of this sort during my visit.
I will see if something pops up before finalizing which places to visit eventually. I am not too concerned about the food unless I need to make a point.
As for anyone in PRC, I couldn't speak for anyone on their behalf, but feeling "local" always makes a difference and feeling the vibe does matter because it gets real.
I will drop another one before my departure.
They all know Ning Chang played a role.
All the best.
