FDI framework
First comes first, it is fine with me things get political and heated. But I don’t have any political inclination or endorsement of any form of politics in the country. To me, FDI is a medium to long term thing that should transcend any regime and free from political interference.
So I know the strengths: the tech sector, gaming, showbiz, cosmetics etc. I would say bringing in some new ideas would stimulate and promote diversity. I think the whole idea is not about “profit extrapolation”, since COVID is hitting economies hard and recovery takes time, but challenge some ways of thinking and working. Hey, it’s not easy to work with people of the same calibre, since they are well-off , they have their sense of pride and character and ways of doing things. And there’s no point comparing one to another. We all started off the same, so to speak, but the end could be very different.
Ok, something like retail, REITs, F&B, stock purchases are the easy part. You need a better finance sector, more advance fintech as a medium term goal. As well, we can do the insurance sector and financial planning, which should be interesting. As we all know, Canada and Australia are resource rich, the oil and gas guys should be happy to engage. I think hydrogen fuel and hydrogen transportation should be a big thing, you can play into that as well. For whacky ideas, try telecommunications and the casino. We all knew what the fuss was.
I am not try to push all of this to you all at once. Ideas are the impetus to propel us forward. The world is ever changing, and whether or not you guys decide to play into it things happen every day. As I ready said, I am not going speak PRC with you. I’m done with and I have move on. If I have any issue with anybody there, I can reach them directly, particularly when the dough is not the issue nowadays.
So when I am ready to travel, I believe nothing like this will be talked about but it will gradually be addressed. Investment is not the same as a light encounter or consumer purchases. But some forms of purchase do speak volumes.
Shortly, I’ll look into some of the places I intend to visit and we’ll stick to it. Last time around, it was a small scale trip to Seoul, this time around it should be a bit more lavish. We all deserve better, particularly after a hard and brutal COVID pandemic.
Cheers!
P.S. To end is a new beginning
