Initial assessment: Bad blood rages on
As COVID-19 continues to blow up, I had a glimpse of the severity of the matter. This is a battle about techies, tech dominance, robots, A.I., and of course the underground slush funds in relation to the PRC.
I seriously have no problem with competition, but as I know things are getting out of hand and they just try to play dirty to get ahead. It’s unfortunate they are trying to spill over their woes like this. Since the virus will drag on for a bit, and that I won’t be able to make any travel arrangements at the moment, here are some initial ideas to work on to see if it can help combat their “shock and awe” approach.
This is an argument about “pineapple”, “smoke” and “snake”, as the authorities shut down the remittance program causing an uproar. In the end, this confrontation will need to be settled by PRC, HK and Taiwan as they wrestle and tangle. You don’t need to get sucked into this fight and it wouldn’t help anything at all. And that any economic benefits promised, if it’s not proper and clean, will never be able materialised at all. That’s the harsh reality and the little ones need to accept.
For whatever “parked” funds or slush funds that has PRC origin, set up a “bad bank” and inject all assets into it, for sell/review/kill off. I don’t need to know exactly what it is or how it’s structured, and not all of it is clean and tangible in nature. I will try and imitate it on my end, but it’s just an example since I only have that much on hand. It’s a lost cause on my hand, there’s no love or fear from me. I hope to trigger a helpful discussion to smooth things out on your side later on.
As you know the UK is also dealing with Brexit and the “EU”, it would be nice to touch base with Johnson’s team, Ramsay’s team and Oliver’s team as it will help with transition. Just be frank and candid, as they all worked with the same “EU” clans and combined they have a solid network and foundation for cooperation. Of course for future trade talks, it need not involve the PRC at all. I have a few ideas in mind.
