Busan: Lay a framework for discussion and preparation

In my introduction to Busan, South Korea, there had been a great emphasis on "PRC", "the dark market", "Vietnam war", "California dreams", "remittance", "slush funds", "sea freight" and a few other things. This will be a part of our discussion, but as a whole as we move forward this conversation should be much broader and in depth and will cover all grounds including all types of businesses and trades. There won't be a definitive answer or approach as to how we tackle the issues at hand, but I will provide suggestions along the way and fine tune it from here and there. One thing is clear, though, our old way of operation in the PRC doesn't work. The remittance business is totally done for me and I do not wish to participate in it at all.

Of course many of us know about the close ties and FDI in South Korea from PRC. It's not about doing business with the PRC, but how the business is set up, under what terms and conditions and its duties and responsibilities. I know things can get a bit complicated and dicey in there, and I know most of the key players you guys work with in there - they may not be the best people out there. But the question is if I don't have stake interest in the business these days, should I be all hands on and intervene? President Xi has his opinion on the Korean operation, and it can be harsh at times I get it. Some people get caught playing dirty, other got lost trying to move loot along. It's brutal and hard to deal with. What this all means is that something has to change to make it work and you guys have to "take back control". I will elaborate more along the way and this will be something I will leave you people to take care of yourselves.

I want to start something new with you guys, and has nothing to do with PRC. I think we can do something satisfying, fun and rewarding together. I don't think life should always be about shit, right? I took some of that heat and it's time to chill. I think this is where we should begin.
